Cooking lessons

The kids at my house are learning to cook. It's made a huge difference in our dinners!

I don't mind cooking, and I'm not all that awful at it. Really!

I just struggle with the "what" to serve. I absolutely draw a blank when it comes to meal planning. I hate serving the same thing over and over again. I have been teaching the kids how to cook, and they get to pick what they want to fix.

Feel free to leave me any recipes or cooking tips!

I have a bad habit of looking at the clock at 6:30 on the way home from multiple soccer practices and wondering what to fix for dinner.... at which point, it's way too late.

Cooking lessons has significantly reduced that!

Check out that concentration!

And the cooperation of sisters...
And the absolutely hysterical looks I get from Justine.
Follow up some delicious meal with this beautiful candelight dinner.

I also struggle with meal planning. I created an Excel spreadsheet, because that's just what I do, of all the meals we make. Unfortunately, I rarely consult it and we end up making the exact same things because I'll just be too tired to do anything else. Our stand-bys are spaghetti, stromboli, hot dogs, grilled cheese/tomato soup, and club sandwiches. Sad. I have a really long list of things and I rarely use them.

I'd love to trade recipes and compare notes, though. I'm always looking for ideas to freshen up our dull routine.
