Life UneXpected and more...

I mentioned on my New Year's Resolutions post that I was going to start watching more TV.

Geez. That's been the easiest resolution to keep EVER!!!

My favorite so far?
Life Unexpected.
I am loving this show on the CW on Monday nights. The premise of the school is based on the unlikely high school couple Kate and Baze, who have an unlikely and awkward one night stand in high school after the Winter Formal. Kate is an academic snob. Baze is the fun loving quarterback. Kate ends up getting pregnant and gives the baby up for adoption, reassured that the baby will find a home with two loving parents to care for her.

Fast forward 16 years, and we find Lux, named by a nurse in a hospital, attempting to be emancipated from the foster care system. Kate and Baze are shocked to find that their baby was never adopted because she spent her first several years having multiple heart surgeries. Instead of having the perfect childhood they wished for her, she spends her childhood in and out of multiple foster homes.

Life Unexpected shows how they all work to become a family. I think I love this show so much because it really shows how difficult is is to become a family, even when the love is there. But it shows them working through it and getting better. And I love that!

I love the words to the title song "Beautiful Tree."

"Bent or broken, this family tree. Each branch a part of a part of me. This is my tree and it's a beautiful tree."

I'm also looking forward to Parenthood... the new NBC show starring Lauren Graham (from Gilmore Girls), and Craig T. Nelson to name a few. It's based on the movie Parenthood, which Jeff and I have based our entire parenting philosophy on.

When things get rough for us, Jeff and I will look at each other and make a "chuck chuck chuck" sound like an old wooden roller coaster. We always remember the grandmother in this movie talking about how parenthood is like riding a roller coaster. It's both fun and terrifying at the same time. Indeed.

Remember the old movie?
This makes me want to see it again!
