News from Africa

An excerpt from the email Crystal received from Shimellis on Dec 26th:

"Today the Ellerbees adoption of Philemon & Merkeb has been approved! Now it will about 6 weeks from traveling. That is even though the case has been approved today; it will take us 3 to 5 working days to get the official letter and adoption decree from the court and about 7 to 10 days to get the To Whom It May Concern Letter from the MOWA office (3 letters) one for the Embassy, one to get their birth certificates and the third one to get their passport processed. From the date we received the letters from MOWA; it will be three weeks for families to travel. If every things works out they can travel by the end of the first week of Feb."

So we are looking at traveling I guess the end of the first week of February. I really want to make our arrangements for Feb 3-10. (February starts on a Friday, so does that officially mean that would be the end of the first week ie: Sunday?) As soon as we hear that these letters from MOWA have been processed, then we will know for sure when to make our arrangements. We went ahead and held air travel arrangements for Feb 3rd. We can change without any fees so at least we locked in a rate. This is great news, and we are so excited. Now we're into the crunch time of planning, packing and organizing our home to get ready for them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
