Oh hair.... that is.....
I tried to explain that we needed to take her to a special place who knew how to cut African-American hair... her reply, with a snap... "Yes, because my hair is AWFUL."
We love her hair. We always talk about her hair and how much we love it... we make sure it gets braided and is done cute.
We continue to walk this tight rope of equality. It truly is difficult to have these girls of the same age, but of different races in the same family. Oh, the battles you don't realize are ahead of you. I think that just allowing her to vent her frustrations and attempting to understand her feelings is the best I can do right now.

They all look great! And Jameson's hair is really getting long too! It looks pretty straight as well as curly! My girls have had to learn and understand why Nora's hair needs one kind of product while Ruby's and Elizabeth's need something different. When Ruby gets her hair braided and beaded, Nora wants that too, and she gets a little jealous of the time and effort required for Ruby's hair.
Ok, so did you use just a normal flat iron? Any special product ahead of time. Beza wants to try it and I just haven't had time to research it. She also saw Natalie's hair curled in cute ringlets (not by me, by someone else) and wanted me to do that too. Have you used a curling iron on her hair?
They look beautiful! As always.
