So, you're all taking bets on when I'll cave, huh?
Well... we made it through day 1. It wasn't even hard. The kids actually didn't act like they missed it all that much. Well, SOME of the kids... Jameson was testy all day, and Josh put himself to bed at 7pm out of a lack of anything else to do. But the rest of them played games all day. We read books. We got our school work all done. Jaiden was really excited to do extra school work and kept coming up with some extra stuff to do. It was SO nice that it wasn't even an option. There was no whining. No complaining. I hope it stays that way.

Tv is an addiction!. Good for you Gina stay strong. I had NO tv for 17 years. Enjoyed nature and the free things in life. Moon, sun, stars etc. etc etc. Be creative with the simple things in life. mom
Good for you, Gina.
Courtney and I had no cable and a really old TV that got no reception until 2004. There wasn't anything on for her at night and there was time for 15 mins of PBS before school. And you know what? I loved it.
There is no way Jay will let us get away with this now, but I still don't watch much, and it frees up all kinds of time to get things done.
It really is a time-suck.
When I was a kid we didn't have TV from the time I was 8 until I was 14. I credit my love of books to that. On the other hand, I'm sorely lacking in pop culture from that time--oh darn.
